What is Vinyasa Yoga?

According to definitive ancient texts, there are three main aspects of YOGA: Yoga as Union, Yoga as Samadhi (peace), and Yoga as a Method (way) to achieving Union (harmony) and Samadhi (peace).

Vinyasa Yoga is a form of the third limb of Yoga, asana, or postures in English. In this style of practice, the poses are linked together and practiced in a specific sequence, always in concert with breath.

One Yoga is based on the teachings of Sri Krishnamacharya, who devoted his life to studying, practicing, and teaching Yoga. Many of his students are revered teachers who have deeply shaped the world of Yoga that you now know.

Srivatsa Ramaswami

Srivatsa Ramaswami was one of Krishnamacharya’s most devoted students and has been Ryan’s teacher for fourteen years. Ramaswami has taught many workshops and trainings at One Yoga Studios. Although he no longer travels away from India to teach, he continues to be a part of the community as a beloved teacher from across the ocean to anywhere on Zoom. We are so grateful for his knowledge, wisdom, and commitment to sharing yoga.
