Vinyasa Yoga is the practice of physical and spiritual development, the art and science of combining the elements of Yoga in a sequence that makes an effective and safe practice. Using the body, breath and mind in a slow and deliberate manner, an integrated, unified state of harmony and attention is achieved. In this class, Ryan Leier will introduce the more traditional yoga teachings of the father of modern Yoga Sri T. Krishnamacharya with a focus on introducing potent asanas with breath, bandhas, and pranayama. The Yamas, Niyamas as passed on from Patanjali will be explored.
Inverted postures of yoga are some of the most beneficial and magical, yet intimidating of all the asanas.In this workshop Ryan will break each pose down, teaching how to practice safely and confidently through the use of preparatory poses, props, and proper alignment. Learn to practice safely and mindfully so you can incorporate going upside down into your regular practice. Experience the joy, confidence and clarity that these postures create. Focus will be on headstand, shoulder stand and their variations. This workshop truly is for all levels, even if you have never gone upside down before—this is a great place to start!
Experience a fun, all-levels class where Ryan will guide us through a vinyasa flow, with a journey into the history and mythology behind some of your favorite poses. No experience of yoga is necessary. Bring your friends, and prepare to be playful!
The training focuses on the uniqueness of sharing yoga to at risk youth within the school system. A huge part of this training will be experiential learning.
We spend the first two days learning about sequencing, engaging youth, practicing yoga and learning ways to make yoga philosophy accessible to youth. The rest of the week we explore the various Yoga program Yoga for youth as developed over the past 8 years.
We will spend time in schools and other community program where we teach yoga. Students will practice teach, observe yoga classes and connect with youth. We will learn about the unique barriers the youth at risk face, as well as systemic issues that we can address through our yoga practices and while living yoga. We will also spend time with learning from the wisdom of the first nations teachings.

We gather to honour the great Spiritual Educators who have brought a divine message to all peoples.
